I can’t fight it anymore.
I don’t understand it, but I have to accept it.
I am a nerd.

I cannot be cool.
I will not be cool.
Those who think otherwise are misled.
Don’t be misled.
My dreams are those that lead me further down the path of becoming the Duke of Nerddom.
A dream:

A Smart Car
Another dream:

Apple MacBook Pro
My entertainment:

Doctor Who on BBC (downloaded via BitTorrent and watched on my TV via video out on my Linux server using MPlayer).
And, to make sure that I was not misleading myself, I took this test and found out that I am a “Pure Nerd.”
A little over the top nerdiness. Even for me.

Say, I’d sure like to know more about Doctor Who on BBC (downloaded via BitTorrent and watched on my TV via video out on my Linux server using MPlayer). I’m on a Linux box running Mandrake. But I’m an idjit when it comes to geekdom…
MPlayer (when all the Codecs are installed) is the one of the greatest media players available. MPlayer, by itself, is a command line application but it has a GUI – GMPlayer.
If you have TV out on your video card (and it is an NVIDIA card) then you can use NVTV to get this to output to the tv. Simply choose the resolution and the format and turn it on. Ba-da-bing. Your screen should now appear on the computer monitor and the tv (if the cables are connected).
Oh yeah. Doctor Who is the greatest and longest running Sci-Fi show on tv. While I am not a huge sci-fi fan, the Doctor is phenomenal. (At least the episodes starting in 2005.)
Berlynn, if you are using Mandrake, you best be looking into the Penguin Liberation Front.
Add their repostitory and then install MPlayer. After that you should be able to watch any video you find on the interwebs.
I believe they also have the NVTV package for setting up NVIDIA cards to output to the TV.
The Smart Cars are already available in the US from ZAP http://www.zapworld.com ZP (NYSE). A California based company who is also planning on bringing a Brazilian made car to the US, the Obvio! 828, that is a hybrid that can run on any combination of ethanol and gas. Zap is also the only car company who is selling a Chinese manufactured car in the US the 100% electric Xebra city car .
Smart Cars have been available in Canada for about 2 years. Even though they were all over Europe for years before that.
Consider how far behind, how backward, North America is. The concept of the Smart Car started in ’94. In Europe you can buy a Smart Car from a vending machine like building. Smaller and smaller in Europe … the cars, the buildings, the egos.
Bigger and bigger over here. More landspace taken up to sell larger and larger vehicles. And egos to match. The only that does not match is the size of North America’s penis . . . unless something being inversely proportional is the same as saying it matches . . .
